Book Review: The Traitor Queen by Danielle L. Jensen

4.5 ~ 5 💫

✒️So... I don't know what happened. One moment I was done with book #1 in The Bridge series and though I loved it, it didn't quite live up to my expectations, and the next I was done with book #2 and I almost started crying in despair and disbelief that it was done. 😧

Okay, I am exaggerating, but I got so lost and consumed by the story and these characters throughout the second book, that I didn't even realize it was getting to the end until I got there and I was left wanting for more! More about the ending, more time with Lara and Aren, more time to see their world being put together, more plots, more time on the island, more healing, just...more.

So I guess the hype was for real after all. Now I'm addicted and I don't know what to do with my life (you know the feeling, right)?

There were still a few things that made me ugh (like the occasional self-pity parties and the conclusion that was a bit too rushed considering the buildup) but in the grand scheme of things, I don't care about any of that. :)) I went into this book without even reading the description and loved it more than the first: the action, Lara and Aren fighting back to back and being their true badass selves for a change, the intensity, the feels (omg the feels! 😭), the character growth, the story development... so, so good!

Lara and Aren make quite the remarkable, powerful couple. The story was a bit slow in the beginning, but it picked up pace fairly quickie and it was non stop action - mixed with tension, passion, angst and drama, until the very end. Loved it!💔💞
